  1. Reconciling the short term and long term impacts of our choices, desires and needs certainly seems to require some cultural rewiring. I’d like to think that a paradigm shift would not presuppose one for the other – austerity now for future longevity. I’d like to know how the basic goodness, abudanances and sources of inspiration of life now can be enjoyed and still celebrated, respectfully, responsibly and SUSTAINABLY while ensuring the same opportunity for future generations. The abstraction of “long term” can be challenging for our modern (technology-focused) culture of impatience, but framing it through GENERATIONS could anchor that shift to our inner, innate interest in the survival of our species.
